Check-out was at 10 am, but we weren't about to rush off without one last indulgence. With a few ribeyes left in the fridge, we decided there was only one way to bid farewell to paradise—grilled steaks for breakfast! The grill sizzle, the sound of the waves in the background, and the smell of ribeyes cooking set the perfect scene for our final meal in Maui. It was an epic way to close out our time on the island. Who needs cereal when you can have ribeyes and ocean views? After polishing off our breakfast, we packed up the last of our things and set out to squeeze in a few more adventures before our redeye flight back home.
First stop: the Maui Aquarium. It was a nice change of pace to see all the fish, turtles, and stingrays up close without having to swim after them. Everyone loved it—especially since we didn't have to use snorkels this time! But with a few more hours to kill, we weren't done just yet. We grabbed some lunch and ice cream (because what's a vacation day without dessert?), Then, we headed to the movie theater to watch Inside Out 2. The movie was adorable and oddly accurate regarding how our emotions felt as we neared our trip's end. We laughed, cried, and enjoyed our last few moments on the island.
Reluctantly, it was time to give back our bright red Dodge Chargers, which had become our trusty sidekicks over the last few weeks. We all got a little attached to them, but the time had come. We dropped them off, made it through security at the airport without any hiccups, and had a few minutes to spare before boarding our redeye flight. As we waited, it hit us—what an amazing three weeks we'd had. We created so many memories, soaked up every bit of island life, and laughed until our stomachs hurt. Sad to leave? Definitely. But we know Maui will always be here, awaiting our next adventure. Hopefully, we'll catch some sleep on the flight, but either way, we're already dreaming about our return.
Aloha Maui...until next time, you'll always have a piece of our hearts! 🌺 🌊✈️
